Uchiki Kuri Squash seeds

SKU: UK2629

The Uchiki kuri (or sometimes kari) is a winter squash that has a very mellow flavor and soft flavors of chestnut. Due to its light flavor, this can be combined with a variety of ingredients to create both sweet and savory dishes.

These love to be trellised and the blossoms are also delicious in a variety of dishes. The Uchiki Kuri squash is also drought tolerant so it can be used with xeriscaping or in areas of full sun that may not see water regularly.

This squash is best suited for soups, stews, casseroles, or stuffed it you like savory. It's especially delicious with browned butter and herbs. If you are looking to use it for sweeter offerings, it's best suited for cakes, breads, muffins, jams, and pies. This makes an excellent alternative to the pumpkin if you are making a pie. This squash is scrummy, to say the least.
