Golden Nugget squash seeds
The Golden Nugget squash originates from South America. The original variety was grown and then improved in 1996 at the North Dakota State University where it won several awards.
The Golden Nugget squash is unique in that it can be picked young and treated or cooked like summer squash, or left on the vine to harden and cure like a Winter squash. The fruit o the Golden Nugget squash looks like a pumpkin, but without the vine. This has also led to being called the pumpkin bush as well. Each squash has smooth skin and can be consumed without peeling.
These squash are smaller in size, so they are ideal for small gardens as well as containers. Each fruit can weigh around 1-3 pounds, and the flavor has been described as buttery and very similar to sweet potato.
