Lemon Cucumber seeds

SKU: L30872

Lemon cucumbers are an heirloom variety dating back to the 1800s. It has earned its name from its similar appearance to a lemon, even when sliced in half. Although it bears no lemon note, it does have a more mild flavor than cucumbers and is slightly sweeter. The outer skin will form tiny spines which dissipate as these ripen. They are the size of a tennis ball and display a light green flesh that will yellow over time. The inside flesh will be a pale green to dark green depending on when it's harvested and is exceptionally crisp.

We grew these for the first time last year and were pleasantly surprised. We were ours in a 5-gallon container and did incredible, producing numerous cucumbers. We also discovered these don't require as much sun as traditional varieties. These were also very easy to trellis as our container was up against some cattle panels, and these took to it right away. These mature quickly and are ideal for those who may have a shorter growing season and cooler temperatures.
