Edelweiss Flower seeds (pre-stratified)
How pretty are these? The Edelweiss is a native perennial flower that is native to the Alpine areas in Europe, as well as South America. In Austria, the blooms were cooked with milk, honey, and butter as it was believed they could benefit the respiratory system. Nowadays, flowers are being used topically as they are potent in neutralizing free radicals.
The center of each bloom has a central yellow-white flower surrounded by 5 smaller flowers. Underneath this cluster of blooms lies a separate bunch of 6 - 9 fuzzy white leaves that form a star or snowflake shape. Each plant will have a tight bunch of 2 - 10 uniquely shaped flowers. Each plant will grow between 2 - 12 inches. These have a lifespan of 2 - 7 years. They are dormant in the winter and will return each spring. The seeds can take up to 6 weeks to germinate.
