A Chicago Warted Hubbard squash from our garden.

Black Hubbard Squash seeds

SKU: 8550908

This squash is part of the traditional Hubbard family. The Chicago Warted Hubbard has an interesting appearance in that the color can range from a dark intense green to black upon maturity. The Black Hubbard (a.k.a. Chicago warted Hubbard) is covered in warts and thick skin. The flesh inside is flaky and drier than traditional squash, with an exceptionally sweet flavor. The Black Hubbard provides a generous amount of flesh and can be used in both savory and sweet applications.  These have an exceptional shelf life and last throughout the winter.

Vines grow between 15-18 feet and will produce a few large size fruit. The squash can weigh up to 16 pounds! You can expect squash after 110 days after sowing. This squash can be stored in a cool, dry space through the following Spring and early Summer.
