Burgess Buttercup squash seeds

SKU: 693851W

The Burgess buttercup squash is a popular heirloom variety that is known for its interesting shape and superior flavor. We grow these each year, and we call them kabocha with belly buttons. Others describe it this way as well. The Burgess buttercup squash resembles a miniature kabocha, but it has a pronounced green bump underneath.

This variety was discovered and introduced around 1932. This variety differs from the kabocha in that it is slightly less sweet, and the flesh is more tender and almost creamy as far as mouthfeel. These trellis extremely well and you can expect about 3-5 fruits per vine.  Certified organic by MOFGA.
