Wild Musk Strawberry seeds
Musk Strawberries are a wild variety that produces smaller berries, similar to Alpine varieties. These are popular in Europe, especially in Germany. They are renowned for their sweet but the musky fragrance and intense flavor. It has been nicknamed "Bubble Berry" in Europe as some state it has bubblegum flavor while others translate the flavor into a marriage of raspberry and citrus. Musk strawberries are red to green mottled as they grow but will mature into a dark red and almost maroon color if left on the plant a bit longer. It's said Musk strawberries are sweeter than mainstream store varieties. The seeds can be sown in late fall so they can overwinter and grow in the spring, or they can be stratified in the refrigerator before sowing and starting indoors for early spring.
You will need both male and female seeds growing near each other. These seeds are a 50/50 mix. We encourage these to be grown in a group close to each other so they can produce fruit.
(*Suggested for intermediate to advanced growers/gardeners only. Strawberry seeds are temperamental and need optimal conditions to grow. You will need a heat or germination mat and the seeds must be surface sown, not buried. Instructions are provided. Please adhere as closely as possible to guarantee successful germination. All strawberry seeds have been tested and are being grown by us as well, check out our Instagram video of our strawberry seedlings).
