French Breakfast Radish seeds
This is another heirloom variety that originates from France and has an interesting story behind the name. French marketers would snack on these with butter and salt for breakfast as they sold their goods on the streets in the morning. They were usually served alongside bread and tea.
We grow these every year as they are a family favorite. French Breakfast radishes are a Fuchsia color, and as they grow, they mature into a cylindrical shape as opposed to their rounder cousins. Each radish will grow between 2-4" inches. They are incredibly juicy, very crunchy, and sweet with a slight sting on the tongue. These are ideal for square-foot gardening as they don't take up a lot of room. You can sew seeds in tight spaces to grow these without them interrupting the roots of other plants since they grow so slim and in an upwards direction instead of outwards and round.
